According to a report from the South China Morning Post, on July 28, 35-year-old Wang Tianyu, owner of a construction company, received a call from a friend asking for help to save his family trapped in a village due to flooding in the area.

For the rescue, Wang and his friend raised the excavator arm so that the flood victims could get into the bucket and be taken to a safe place. Using this method, they managed to transport over 100 people.

Wang said he was frightened during the rescue, as his excavator was almost swept away by the water several times. That day, he worked nonstop from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., and for his efforts, he was named “Excavator Hero.”
